Don’t take this deadly #outlet challenge! Educate our kids and their friends!

First it was the tide pod challenge, now this! #outlet challenge needs to go away now! Young kids will try anything to fit it to a new school or get into that ‘cool’ crowd.
This is very dangerous and can be deadly. Breakers don’t trip immediately. Once you create a dead short, there’s zero resistance and millions of amps immediately. Amps is what’s deadly, not the voltage!
Sparks and arc flash will happen immediately and burn the face and eyes. Electricity isn’t for DIYers, hobbyist, and especially kids. When a kid tries this, their brother or sister will see this and try to copy it. Maybe they’re really young too, maybe a toddler and they’re much closer to the outlet than adults.
The #OutletChallenge or #PennyChallenge is dangerous. Parents and teachers, make sure your kids don’t “challenge” safety. pic.twitter.com/ipA708tbnO
